American Idol “Love Songs” Recap

Tonight, the American Idol contestants tackle “love songs.” However, their performances were…

Katharine - While she can sing, she doesn’t have any soul, and this performance made that abundantly clear.
Elliot - He was really good.
Kellie - She was terrible, boring and should maybe start packing.
Paris - She was alright. (shrugs)
Taylor - He was alright. (shrugs)
Chris - He was the highlight of the night, which is not saying too much.

After tonight performances, it seems like no one really wants to win. Yikes, better luck next week.

American Idol Tackles the American Songbook

So, the American Idols tackled the American song classics with a little help from Rod Stewart.

Chris - I loved his performance. He has a really great voice. I know he’s a rocker but I love it when he just sings.

Paris - She was definitely in her comfort zone. Her voice was great but the song was a little on the boring side.

Taylor - He has a great voice. I really do love it when he gets to grooving and that ending was hot.

Elliot - I absolutely loved his performance.

Kellie - There were some shaky patches, ok more than some. Yet, I could hear traces of Patsy Cline in her voice. I think she has a future if she keeps on singing.

Ace - He was actually pretty darn good.

Katharine - She was great.

A much better night of performances than last week’s Queen debacle.

American Idol Contestants Murder Queen Songs

Is it me, or were most of the American Idol “Queen” performances tonight ‘a complete and utter mess?’

Bucky - alright
Ace - horrible; reminiscent of Rex Harrison’s talk-singing
Kellie - a slight step above horrible, but at least she was committed to her delivery
Chris - boring (he can sing, but every week it’s like he’s singing the same song)
Katharine - too much screaming, surprised she didn’t do better
Elliot - rough in the patches, but overall not too bad
Taylor - needs to find the guy who stole his mojo
Paris - there were some flashes of greatness in her voice, but not throughout the whole performance

I guess Freddie Mercury left some pretty big shoes to fill…
