Paralympic Winter Games to Be Broadcast Live on the Internet

International Paralympic Committee (IPC) partnered with Narrowstep Inc, to officially launched a new 24-hour broadband TV channel: Paralympicsport.tv. This means that for the first time ever, worldwide coverage of all sports of the Paralympic Winter Games is secured.
With the new channel, the IPC expects to broadcast over 100 hours coverage from the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, including live coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, plus all four sports of Alpine Skiing, Ice Sledge Hockey, Nordic Skiing and Wheelchair Curling. Additionally, a daily highlights package with the best performances from the previous days’ competitions will be available.
Clifford Webb, Chief Operating Officer of Narrowstep, said, “We’re delighted to partner with the IPC in creating this exciting opportunity which will dramatically increase the coverage of Paralympic sports. Now more people than ever before will be able to view the outstanding performances of these athletes, supported by a top quality, commercially successful online broadcast platform.”
Paralympicsport.tv becomes fully operational today with archive footage, and will broadcast the Paralympic Games between March 10-19.
