Top Ten Favorite Movie Musicals

Here’s a list of my favorite movie musicals.
1. Hello Dolly (1969)
2. Sound of Music (1965)
3. Newsies (1992)
4. Moulin Rouge (2001)
5. Little Shop of Horrors (1986)
6. Chorus Line (1985)
7. Grease (1978)
8. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
9. The Swan Princess (1994)
10. Victor/Victoria (1982)
I’m anticipating that the Phantom of the Opera (2004) will make the list although I haven’t found a close enough theatre to go watch it yet. 
But I may make the long track tomorrow to see it. If you have seen it, let me know what you think about the movie or feel free to add you favorite movie musical to the list.

I think that Chicago is one of the great movie musicals, and I saw the original cast on Broadway in the early 70’s. I never thought that they could do the play justice, but they sure did! Especially Catherine Zeta Jones who I really expected to bomb, but she was amazing!

gary, i forgot about chicago…maybe i’ll check it out…i finally got around to see the phantom and i loved it
